Imagine that you think you can’t draw. It would be kind of like thinking that you can’t sign your name, after writing a whole letter. Then someone says, “But hey! When you put simple patterns together, (using the same strokes that you would use to make words) you can ALSO create some art!"

And this is what Zentangle® is: “An easy to learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.” These patterns are called “tangles”.

The materials are simple; a pen, a pencil, and card-stock “tiles”. The strokes we make are even simpler; a dot, a line (a lowercase “i”) a simple curve (a “c”), a complex curve (an “s”) and an orb (an “o”).
