Event Description
Join expert leather workers Donlin and Jaya of Horse Hill Studio for this 2 part class. Students will learn basic leather skills and finish the program with a beautiful and functional custom belt.
This class will cover:
-Cutting belt strips from from a “side” of leather
-Finishing the edges of leather with beveler and burnishing techniques
-joining leathers with saddle stitching or riveting
-skiving (thinning leather)
-using drive punches for finishing the belt ends and sizing holes
-plus basic dying, embossing, and final finishing techniques.
We're excited for this first leather working event at MAXT - this is one of our most requested programs, so join us and help build this new skill at our space!
